- White flag shelters are open across Durham County through the pending winter storm.
- A mass care shelter will open at Northern High School (4622 N. Roxboro St. – Durham) beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24. (slated to remain open through Monday afternoon)
- The shelter will have kennels for dogs and cats; if you are bringing a pet, please be prepared to clean up after your pet.

Union County is opening a shelter at 6:00 pm at Monroe Middle School. I have updated the NCDHHS Smart Sheet for sheltering, but wasn’t sure if I needed to let NCACDSS know as well. I’m waiting on the capacity numbers from our Preparedness Coordinator.
