Position or Policy Recommendation for Board Action:

SIAC respectfully asks the Board of Directors to vote on our short tem and long term

goals for the committee.  We would like to begin working on accomplishing these goals as quickly as possible.  We respectfully ask the board to vote on these issues.

General Information for Dissemination:

Collections for month of January 2003:

AFDC - $19,533.90

Work First - $34,971.77

Food Stamps - $252,258.35

Medicaid - $100,485.43

North Carolina is one of the models for other states with our TOP collections and EPICS screen.  We are one of only 10 states who send intercepts to IRS on a weekly basis.  We have many states contacting North Carolina for information on our model. 

USDA will be able to hire an undercover investigator to work out of Raleigh.  This will benefit North Carolina in prosecutions of retailers.

Food Stamp policy 810.04, 815.05 and 820.06  were approved by SIAC for ESC approval.
