Professional Capacity Committee Highlights

• The Committee conducted some planning for the upcoming Senior Mgmt/ New Director Trg. Session to be held at the Institute in November. The agenda will include: Media Relations, Personnel, Budget (LBL presentation), Senior Mgmt./Director relationship session (panel), return of the Top ‘10’ panel discussion among Directors and none other than Neil Walters and his chosen motivational topic. New Directors and Senior Management/Leadership Team members are encouraged to attend.
• Mentoring Assignments have been distributed. The comm. co-chairs will assign a mentor to new directors as they become aware of their employment. Directors that haven’t done so are encouraged to consider being a mentor. We need more mentors from all regions within the state.
• The committee completed more work on developing a listserv for Prog. Mgrs., Asst. Directors, etc. An e-mail has recently been issued requesting names and addresses to be included. This will be an excellent avenue thru which they can network, plan mtgs., etc (just as fiscal staff currently do).
