Capacity Committee Highlights
August
13, 2003
- The committee reviewed feedback
from the June New Director Orientation Sessions. All feedback was positive
and it was determined that the agenda for future Orientation Sessions should
remain the same. Some suggestions were made to increase the amount of time
spent discussing certain issues (such as: personnel and budget), however,
the committee determined that these issues would be addressed in more detail
in other training throughout the year…such as at the Institute.
- Due to additional new Directors
and necessary changes, the committee completed additional work on the assignment
of mentors and agreed to draft some guidelines for mentors. This info. should
be out soon.
- The committee discussed some plans
for the upcoming full-day training at the Institute. This training will
again be open to other ‘upper level’ management and will be given a different
title than ‘New Director Training’.
- The committee discussed developing
mtgs. for upper level mgmt – to be held at existing Regional Mtgs. or independently
throughout the year.
- In response to a request from mgmt.
staff such as Asst. Directors, etc., the committee agreed to assist them
in implementing an appropriate listserv through which they could network
with their counterparts throughout the state and this could create an avenue
through which meetings could be coordinated (similar to Fiscal staff).
- The committee agreed to conduct
a meeting with all Team Representatives sometime in September for the purpose
of revisiting their roles and engaging them in Prof. Cap. Activities.
Note:
the Committee welcomed additional members this month but needs more.
