Present: Pat Cameron -Harnett County DSS, Donnie Bumgarner - Wilkes County DSS, Cristy Preston- Stokes County DSS, June Koenig - Bladen County DSS, Sherry Bradsher – State, Christy Ward-Columbus County DSS, John Wasson-Cleveland County DSS, Dianne Gollimore - Alamance County DSS, Holly Steed-Wayne County DSS, Earl Marett- Johnston County DSS, Roy Young-Union County DSS, Lori Lancaster-Wilson County DSS, Shirley Harris-Cumberland County DSS, Gail Davis-Bladen County DSS.
Meeting called to order by Roy Young.
Roy Young presented the proposed changes to the Education and Experience requirement for Social Work Class and Investigator/Treatment class as proposed by Patrick McCoy from OSP. ( copy of changes attached). This information had been provided to the Directors prior to our meeting and had been reviewed by the Division. Sherry Bradsher indicated the Division was comfortable with this change in Education and Experience for these positions. Motion by Earl Marett to approve the recommendation as presented and seconded by Donnie Bumgarner . Motion approved.
The implementation date would be determined by OSP after meeting with the Executive Board.
The Committee discussed the impact on the local agencies of the reclassification of Social Worker III class to Investigator/Treatment Class. The following issues were discussed:
Roy Young presented information regarding Voluntary Resignation without notice provision of Personnel policy. Information will be sent to Directors regarding this policy.
Committee discussed the various interpretation of the Family Medical Leave Act by the Counties.
Committee discussed Foreign Language Interpreter classification. Roy reported it would be on the agenda for the next meeting.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
