Child Support Committee Highlights

• Check out the new website at ncchildsupport.com
• Letter going out on security review. Directors should be aware that Feds will do follow-up in June ’04 and this should be taken seriously.
• Five-Year Child Support Plan: “A Journey to Excellence” begins October 2003. This plan will drive major emphasis of the program 2004-2009. Directors on the group: Ben Rose (Chowan); Marvin Rouse (Edgecombe); Sam Haithcock (Caldwell).
• Seat management for Child Support equipment starts 11/03. Inventory of local offices to be done electronically .
• Liz Harris retiring from Child Support Section effective end of November 2003.
• Henderson County is pursuing transfer of Clerk of Court cases. If counties wish to proceed with a similar plan, need to make sure to remember: that the Feds will not waive the $25.00 fee; and cases that don’t sign on applications remain the responsibility of the Clerk.
