Social Services Consortium,
Well folks, the Senate met in caucus for a long time today trying to come to agreement on the budget but it was not successful. There is strong speculation that the Senate is going to include the lottery in the budget rather than do a straight “up or down” vote on it as it is more likely to pass in the Senate and again when the budget is sent to the House.
We can expect to see a Senate budget some time around the middle of next week and it will be sent quickly to the Senate floor for a favorable vote.
Attached is a spreadsheet of the primary bills that the Consortium is closely following (click here). I am putting together another spreadsheet that includes additional bills that we are keeping watch on as they would have an effect on County DSS .
