Directors, NCACBSS, NCSSA,
Our Legislative Rally is set for June 24th at the General Assembly. We will meet in the GA auditorium at 11:00am for a quick briefing and to provide information sheets to give to legislators. The auditorium is located on the third floor. When you come into the front doors of the GA building you will see stairs with red carpet on them leading up to the third floor. When you reach the top go all the way to the back (you will pass the gallery areas used to view the Senate and House chambers) to reach the auditorium.
We need Directors, DSS Staff, and Board members to come in droves to educate our legislators on the work done by County DSS agencies and to discuss the impacts of proposed cuts. The safety and security of the people we serve are too important to miss this opportunity to give them a voice at the General Assembly!!
We will have a table set up in the North lobby of the General Assembly building to distribute information to the legislators. It will also serve as a meeting location for rally attendees if you need information or directions. We also encourage you to stop by and pick up a snack and drink!
I have attached directions and a map with parking information. I have also attached the list of issues that are the budget priorities for our Consortium. We will be "prettying" up the list as well as providing sheets on individual topics from the list.
To help us gauge how many people to expect we would greatly appreciate if you could send us a quick e-mail at ncacdss@mindspring.com to give us a rough estimate of how many people your county plans to bring.
