Domestic Violence and

Child Welfare Initiative

Key Stakeholders Developing Community Action Plans

The NC Association of County Directors of Social Services, supported by funding from the NC Governor's Crime Commission and the Duke Endowment, leads the Domestic Violence Child Welfare Initiative - a project that assists county Departments of Social Services and their key community stakeholders (specifically including local domestic violence programs) in efforts to enhance outcomes for children and families experiencing co-occurring domestic violence and child maltreatment.  The project provides support for relationship building and collaboration enhancement by and between key stakeholders. We have heard from our members that coordinated community response and prevention efforts are especially important in protecting children and families.

Please know that the Association is available to assist our members and their community stakeholders with efforts to develop and/or enhance collaborations and to offer support for creating organizational frameworks for sharing outcomes and results.  Please contact the project coordinator at (919) 834-0575 if you would like additional information.
